Can't you just call them, say you recieved the item

Then wait a few more days, call them again and say the item isn't working properly/defective and request for refund?

You'll end up returning the item...but I'm not sure about your situation

I ship-claimed NewEgg about a year ago. It was quite a large order too, just told them it was very time sensitive and that I was upset that I was unable to receive it within my time period I needed (and that I didn't even receive it at all).

If anyone can get it refunded from somewhere other than Amazon, that'd work as well. Don't want any no item claims though, because these outside investigations are gonna cause the freight companies to catch on eventually.
