At least I've had my ps3 for 2 or 3 years, since when ever it came out, and my xbox360 broke after a year. Yeah. And I got another. And it broke again. Yeah. Now i'm on my third 360.
And you can buy different controllers with longer joysticks.

The XBOX 360 has an Inefficient cooling design, it also has a bad reputation for breaking down, that is why Microsoft increased the warranty time to 3 years, Microsoft also releases the 360 too quickly, Sony took there time to perfect their product, implementing new technology which has given them the edge in their rivalry with Microsoft, As you would all probably know Microsoft's Operating Systems aren't that great either but we have to deal with it because they have partnership's with the majority of the Computer Manufacture's!

EDIT: Another thing the PS3 has over the XBOX 360, FREE online multiplayer gameplay!
