They are $1650... And if you make $250 a week + electricity. If you buy 3 of them, it will take 20 weeks to pay off just the units itself (without cost of electricity). I'd say the state of bitcoin mining is pretty bad for the average person.

For the average person no it's not a smart idea to do. You'll end up losing more money than you're making unless you take the steps that Acid did. BUT, if you follow the steps he did you'd have $1000 a month and if you don't do anything else like he doesn't you'd be living off $12000 a year which would put you in the poverty range of any community.
