Depends on your preferred genre. A friend recently gifted me "Rocket League" and I thought it had to be the worst game ever. However, I've had a blast playing it for some mindless fun at night. I've also been playing a lot of Endless Legend, a newish 4x strategy game that is a nice break from the Civ series.

Rust or try out Hurtworld. I haven't tried out Hurtworld yet but it looks pretty fun, extremely similar to Rust but the gun play looks a lot more responsive. Best way I have see it explained is "An FPS with Survival aspects".
