Growing out of it maybe? I've seen articles of where people who previously loved anime more than anything, got older like 21-25 years old and ended up growing out of anime. Which I am sure there are 30+ year old people who watch anime but a large amount probably quits watching anime, since most shows are directed for ages 14-18.

I just dislike (most) anime. Manga, LNs, VNs and the likes are still enjoyable.

Nice question-- I got into Anime when I was probably 8 years old. First anime that seriously hooked me up was Naruto. I watched tons of old animes when I was a kid but they were all just giving me the "meh" feeling or probably it was too complicated for an 8-year-old. Anyway, when I saw it just came into my interest, and man I'm not the one who likes action animes w/ romances, but Naruto was an exception. His perseverance, and the never-giving-up attitude towards all the hatred that he got for being a jinchuriki, inspired me. Heck, thanks to Naruto, I found my talent at drawings and stuff. (I kidd' you not.) So yeah, that's how I got into anime and shit, probably sounds nerdy af but hey we all got this weeb side.

It varies series to series but even my favorite series have flaws that I question from time to time.

Manga for me is just the way to get a complete story. Most anime is meant for advertisement to the source material, so they don't do everything correctly.

I had nothing to do one day with my life so I asked my fellow internet-friend thing idk about a GOOD anime, I got recommended Shit Art Online, and ofcourse it being my first fucking anime I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT AND WATCHED THE SECOND SEASON RIGHT AFTER FINISHING THE FIRST ONE, hyping them both like I just won a small loan of a million dollars by The Fine Brother$, then I got stuck into anime and after 3 months I realized I was autistic and came up to that SAO SUCKED FUCKING DICK
