    Decent budget build?

Hey guys! This is my first build for gaming, and being a college student and paying off an engagement ring, I tried to keep the budget as low as I could while still getting decent performance. I know that it's not the best, but do you think it's good enough to play some modern games like GTA V or Black Ops III?

Case: Corsair Carbide SPEC-02 (2 stock fans, will add more eventually)
Motherboard: MSI Computer Corp. Motherboard North Bridge AMD 970 & South Bridge AMD SB950 Chipset ATX DDR3 800 AMD AM3+ Motherboards (970A-G46)
CPU: AMD FX 8300 Black Edition 8 Core AMD3+
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 950 2 GB FTW with ACX cooling
    Ram: 8 GB
    HDD: 1 TB
    PSU: 500 W EVGA
    LG Combo Drive
SDD with Windows 7 Loaded onto it.

So is this a pretty decent build? It cost me about $500 (brother gave me SDD and Ram), so I know it's not going to be high end, but what kind of games do you think I can play and on what FPS? I'm looking for things like Skyrim, GTA V, CS:GO, and Call of Duty games.

    Did I do alright?

I would swap out the 950 for a R9 380 get a Strix Ed and OC. Than you can get Med/High at 1080p 60FPS.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I should have the PC built tomorrow. UPS messed up a shipment . I think for right now I'll stick to my build. If games don't respond as well as I like, I'll invest in liquid cooling for my CPU and OC to about 4 gHz or something similar to see what I can get. I know in a year or two I'll probably end up getting the Intel processor, but until then I'll work with AMD!

Thats a very good deal for that kind of budget, but i would suggesting go from 950 to 960. Its only a few bucks more.

I actually got he 950 on sale from Newegg for $150 , as well as a $20 rebate so it's coming out right at $130! I was pleased because that was a $40 difference in Amazon's price. I'm hoping the 950 and my AMD components can last me around a year and a half to two years, and at that point I'll more than likely go into upgrading into a better AMD processor with Zen architecture of an Intel processor as well as an improved graphics card.

Is there a decent CPU cooler that I can over lock my processor with that fits in a midsize Tower and won't put me over my 500W PSU?
