The world really is a crazy place.
America's gun laws don't really help the situation, though. Australia's gun laws are strict and barely anything happens here when compared to the shit that happens in America.
People can be insane, it's scary to think about all of the shit that's happened in the past month alone.

I think that's kind of where the point "It's quite scary to think we live in a world like this." comes in. The fact that this is the most peaceful era in human history while there is still a lot of violence and insane shit going on around the world is pretty scary in my opinion.
