Yeh. War is hell, and anyone who says otherwise is either crazy, naive, or insane. Again I like ur poem.
Bullets hitting the sandbags
That protect my life
Laying without any mags
As the battle goes into night
Blood seeping from my face
Wounds pain and pain
If I dont save my brothers Ill be a disgrace
I feel the rain
I hear screaming behind me
I look to see my best friend dead
I try to see if I could even live to be
I try not to lose my head
I slide down to look at him
His face is bloody, muddy, and cut
He lost one of his limbs
I thought why him, but
I was shot from behind in the head
I scream but all my brothers are lost
I think Im about to be dead
This is the only cost
Of war because we fight
We all die for our Nation
As we fight day and Night
We die as our president is on vacation
He thinks one squad doesnt change anything
As our battle is nothing to anyone
As my life as I know it hangs
The U.S.A just thought we won
When whoever finds me
Will read all Ive wrote
Laying behind a fallen tree
The will send me back to the U.S by boat
The will throw my book away because it just a bore
To read about how I fought like I was locked inside a cage
But there is only one thing we need to know about war
War Never Changes

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. This is, I repeat, the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."- Dwight D. Eisenhower
