I've thought of this more extensively before, now if there were intelligent life forms that far surpassed our technology, one would assume they themselves would be look for intelligent life. So what we have is a universal game where intelligent life tries to find intelligent life. I would never argue that we are the most intelligent life forms, although we are the most intelligent life forms on earth.
