2016 Olympics Torch Lit
A symbolic ritual symbolizing peace among the nations began at the very first Olympic games held in 776 BC. This years games are going to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is the first time the Olympics are going to be held in South America. The torch ceremony however, began in Greece where and the torch was given to the first torchbearer, Greek gold medalist, Eleftherios Petrounias. The torch will then be passed along throughout a 6 day journey to its final destination in Brazil. It will travel through the country of Brazil, through countless cities and towns, reaching at least 90% of the Brazilian population. About 12,000 different torchbearers will participate in its Brazilian tour. You can give the Olympic Torch a follow on Twitter to see where it is and where it's headed! President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, says "In these difficult days that Brazil is facing, the flame is a timeless reminder that we all are part of the same humanity." Difficult days referring to Brazilian President Dilma Roussef, who faces the possibility of being impeached as politicians are accusing her of breaking budgetary laws.

Europe a Moral Wasteland?
Global News posted a story recently about refugees perishing in the Mediterranean attempting to cross the sea into Europe. The problem was not one that disappeared as stories continue to come to light of people dying in the seas, seeking help while the West continues to turn a blind eye to the dire situation, providing little to no hope for those in need. The latest tragedy happened as an estimated 500 people perished as their ship capsized coming from Libya headed to Italy. Europe is hesitant to open its immigration refugee doors largely in part to recent terror attacks in Belgium and in France, scared they may provide safe and open passage to terrorists. The EU has pledged to accept one Syrian refugee for every one that is sent back. Unfortunately for refugees from other nations, this does not apply to them. Many Afghan refugees are stuck in Turkey, unable to get into the refugee camps, or European camps for that matter. Skeptics cry out saying that this is only putting a band aid on a much larger wound that requires a more hands on approach with extreme precision and carefulness.

Brazil officials state they have recovered $125 million worth of 'dirty money'

Brazil has said that have repatriated $125 million worth of money that was transferred to foreign bank accounts by corrupt government officials, political figures and businessmen. Government officials state their policy of negotiating plea bargains with culprits and suspects behind the siphoning of money has helped them to recover assets that were transferred illegally. A large portion of the money had been diverted from Brazillian oil company Petrobas, where the scheme led to Petrobas incurring a loss of $2 billion. Authorities say the money was primarily used to pay bribes, fund electoral campaigns, and to pay for personal assets. Many executives and political figures have been arrested or are under investigation over the corrupt scheme and on suspicion of overcharging contracts with the oil company that is all a part of an inquiry known as Operation Car Wash. The money had been sent to Switzerland, and now has been returned to Brazil. It is said that most of the money will be returned to Petrobas.

The Electronic Sports League Bans Team YouPorn?

Today, ESL provided a statement to GameSpot stating "Advertising pornography is not legal in the markets we operate in, and the vast majority of partners we're working with have strict 'no drugs, no alcohol, no pornography' rules that we've contractually taken on board. These aren't new rules, but ones that have been in our rulebooks for a long time."

ESL is breaking away from Team YouPorn due to one of the new rules which states sponsors that are widely known for pornographic material or any other mature themes will be blocked from creating a team with a sponsor with adult content. Team YouPorn has stated that they tried many times to change their branding to be allowed to continue to play in the Electronic Sports League. Team YP has also made a statement regarding how disappointed they are. It goes as following. "I am disappointed that Team YP's growth is being stunted by this decision, not to mention the effect that this will have on our roster of players," Team YP manager Claire Fisher told GamesBeat. "While for some, our participation in eSports has been controversial, stopping our players from competing because they are sponsored by us, in spite of Team YP operating as a completely SFW brand, clearly separated from any adult content, seems unfair to say the least."

Xbox 360 Discontinued

On April 20th, 2016, the Xbox 360's production was ceased on it's 10th birthday. Microsoft has stopped the producing of Xbox 360 hardware, which means we will see no more bundles or re-makes of the the 360. Microsoft will also discontinue the accessories of the 360. In the future, people still owning the console will have to buy games used from sellers such as GameStop. Within the statement of discontinuation, Microsoft states “Xbox 360 owners will continue to receive Xbox Live services for their console." This means users still on the Xbox 360 will be able to enjoy all of the features of Xbox Live.

If you are looking to upgrade to the Xbox One, make sure that you keep your 360 games and save your game downloads as you never know which games will be added to Microsoft's Backwards Compatibility Program.

Viber now has end-to-end encryption
Viber has announced that it has begun to roll out end-to-end encryption across all devices for the 711 million users of the app.
Viber has also launched Hidden Chats, a feature that allows users to hide specific chats from the main screen so only they know about them. Hidden Chats can be accessed using a four-digit PIN code.

The encryption will automatically protect all users with the latest update for Viber. Anyone with Viber on an Andriod tablet, iPad or desktop will be prompted to reconnect it to their smartphone using a QR code. A padlock icon on the right-hand side of the device's screen will be color-coded to indicate the level of security applied. The icon will be grey during end-to-end encrypted conversations.
To hide a chat, users can tap on the information screen for that chat. Then they will be asked for a four-digit PIN. iOS users will have the option of using a fingerprint instead. If one user hides the conversation, it will affect the other party.

Opera just added a free VPN to its browser
Opera has become the first web browser to implement a VPN directly into the browser, free for all users. "Now, you don’t have to download VPN extensions or pay for VPN subscriptions to access blocked websites and to shield your browsing when on public Wi-Fi," said the company in a blog post.

This is obviously a move to draw younger, tech-savvy users to the browser. A lot of tech-savvy people use paid VPN services; a free VPN service may be just what the browser needs to grow the userbase.
However, many users have been sceptical of the built-in VPN, because of the WebRTC bug which can still show the user's real IP address even while using the VPN.

New battery developed that can last a lifetime

Although capable of lasting years, it is known that current batteries will die out at some point, after about 5000-7000 cycles most batteries stop working or stop charging, rendering the device incapable of functioning.
Currently, the nanowires in batteries are very fragile and are prone to breaking easily, which is why after 5000-7000 cycles the battery does not work anymore.
However all that might change. Researchers from the University of California, Irvine have discovered a way that lets batteries be charged an almost unlimited amount of times.
Mya Le Thai, one of the lead researchers, had one day accidentally discovered a way to make batteries last a lifetime. By coating the nanowires in a very thin gel layer, she was able to cycle it hundreds of thousands of times without losing any capacity, effectively meaning that it would last hundreds if not thousands of times longer than the conventional battery.
Although still in its researching phase, we hope to see the outcome that this discovery will play in the future of batteries.

Man believes fire alarm contained smurfs
Last tuesday a man was arrested at a Blount county high school. Investigators said the following “a 32-year-old man wearing only underwear and socks went into the vocational building at William Blount High School trying to pull a fire alarm off the wall, because he claimed there were smurfs inside it.” The man is said to have entered the the parking lot in the morning and trying to enter two doors but was unsuccessful in his attempts. After a few tries he eventually found a way into the school. When he got into the school a secretary asked how she could help him, and he gave a very unclear answer. She then asked him to leave and school officers were eventually called. Police have not released the name of the man and the sheriff’s department says that the students were never in any real danger

Female Ted Cruz Lookalike Agrees To Do Porn For $10,000

A Ted Cruz 'look-a-like' was offered $10,000 to make a porno. Searcy Hayes, a 21 year old living in Natchez, Mississippi has never heard of Ted Cruz until this picture went viral. The only reason why Searcy's face has been shown is because her fiance, Freddie Green, thought she was cheating on him, so they went on The Maury Show and got tested to see if he was the father for her 3-month-old son, which he was. 'Being an internet meme doesn't pay the bills'. Then, out of no where, XHamster.com, a popular porn website, has offered to pay Hayes and her fiance $10,000 for a 6-minute sex tape, which is about $1,666.66 per minute. Hayes has made private sex tapes before, but this will be the first sex tape that millions of people will be able to watch. She agreed to do it; 'I'm fine with it because everything is going to support my family. I want to get my son whatever he wants", and Green had obviously agreed to it as well. She currently makes money cleaning houses while her fiance collects SSI, supplemental Security Income because of his disability. Before they can collect the ten-thousand dollars, they must make the film first. So, Green is searching up 'How to make a sex tape on an iPhone."

If you did not know already the musical legend Prince passed away at age 57 on April 21, 2016.

In lighter news, A$AP Ferg has released an album titled "Always Strive and Prosper".
This album was received greatly because of it's elaborate expressions.
The usual Ferg fan is used to his trap lord style rapping with dark drill beats but on this tape Ferg takes a completely different approach.
Although some of the beats are similar in styles, he uses different mannerisms in order to portray his protagonists and antagonists in this tape.
This album definitely packs heat, but at the same time makes sure to highlight friends and family in the process.
It's hard to say much about the album that Ferg hasn't already stated IN the album.

I wasn't able to listen to this record but I was recommended to give it a listen.
