    VC++

    better than devC++

    unless your only going to be doing dos programing...

    anything Visual with devC++ is going to be harder. It doesnt have as many pre-built library's

    and people are complaining about annoying errors. yeah sometimes it throws errors that are a lil harder to figure out. but if you know how to troubleshoot errors...it shouldnt be that hard. you just gotta think about what its telling you.

    In Dev C++, under the 'Tools' menu you can check for updates and packages which offers a lot. For example, you can install glut, now whenever you choose a project type you can go under multimedia and it will add another option called 'glut' and forms a sort of skeleton for you just like if you choose Windows API.

    You can check it out for yourself. Under tools, when you choose the 'Check for updates/packages' option. It's going to ask for a 'dev pak server'. Choose 'devpak.org Community Devpaks' then click the button on the bottom left, 'Check for updates'. The list box should be filled with a bunch of packages which include libraries and header files. Then just check the ones you want and press 'Download selected'.

    For you that don't know this, it's pretty cool.

    If anything, Dev C++ has a lot more easily accessible libraries than Visual Studio.

    I may be wrong.

    If you're starting out, use Dev C++, because MSVC++ makes me cry under my bed.

    The errors are pants-on-head retarded, and sometimes it's just plain confusing.

    So yeah stick to the simple compiler: Dev C++.
    Why do you always favour the engines that are so easy to hack? o__O

    IT'S NOT MY FAULT

    Lol I just like those two engines, especially the Source engine. I had great times playing on both the Cube and the Source engines, so they kinda stuck with me.

    But go ahead lol, idc, just don't screw up the game too bad, why06 seems to like it.
