Made by the same studio who did Mirai Nikki, for starters. But looking into Big Order itself, the characters are extremely one-dimensional. The first episode introduced your stereotypical anti-social, overpowered MC, the stereotypical girl with super powers and Yuno 2.0. Then the story, which tries to be an actual story, is just riddled with plot holes that have no explanation and happen "because I'm strong", aka deus ex machina.

You noticed only now? Apart from the story, Mirai Nikki was pretty great. There are some anime that you watch for an intricate story while some are just mindless action with the sole purpose of entertaining you

The only good thing about Mirai Nikki was the soundtrack and sometimes the art. Mirai Nikki was a shonen, yet it was much closer to a seinen, but yet again failed to be good at either. As a mystery, nothing was very mysterious and a lot of shit was left unexplained. And on top of that, the phones that were supposed to be a main plot device? Hardly used.

Mindless action is fine when it's actually something entertaining. Look at Boku no Hero Academia for example. The story is simplistic enough that you can not think about much and still have fun with what's shown on the screen. I'm all for that now and then, but the shows that attempt it are often done poorly.

Watched Haruhi, will probs watch LotGH and Hyouka soon. Finished Mushishi S1 but the stream for Zoku Shou had s1 episodes instead of s2. Maybe animebytes will have something

I've got no idea what you like so I can't make a recommendation right off the bat. What genre do you like? Try giving Baccano a watch. It's pretty great, but the timeline of events is pretty jumbled up
