My guess is it loads the tab with a script.
It wouldn't necessarily have to search it, it could just load urls one after another, since it searches the same stuff each time.

But wouldn't it just stack up tabs of the searches? Because I'd get it if it loaded the sites on the ruinyourhistory website but it loads it on google.com

I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I know it uses a script.
I got the extension ScriptSafe (blocks scripts on sites unless you allow them) and tried to use the site, the site didn't do anything when I pressed the button until I allowed the scripts to run on the site and pressed the button.
