Talking about a game

So yeah I'm bored again and want to spend the summer doing something interesting. Last summer I started developing 2D games with Cocos2d, pretty fun to be honest. Then I got stuck with some kind of engine bug and quit that activity. Now I find myself back in the game trying to code some fun game.
I'm aiming for something like:
- Simple and straight to the point
- Platformer (like Mario or Flappy Bird)
- 2D
- Addictive

Now take in consideration two things: the main character and the gameplay.
The main character: Must be something/someone fun, like a potato or a cat.
Gameplay: Must be addictive yet simple and easy. Not loaded with pickups or custom weapons and shit (if there are any weapons and shit at all)

I was thinking about a game where you have to jump over platforms as they slide down the screen, you simply touch the platform on which you want to jump to and the character will automatically move there (with jumping animation ofc), the main goal is to reach as high as possible in order to catch something (like a trophy or a snack or whatever). I have nothing else right now, any ideas? Suggestions? Wanting to help with coding/designing? What would you want to play? Just reply with whatever comes in your mind let's start a discussion here.

I think your idea is pretty addictive already
If you release it I would give it a shot!
Maybe you can release it as an app for iTunes/PlayStore and even add InGame Purchases

Yeah ofc I'm aiming for smartphones. I will firstly try it out on my Android then I'll move on to iOS. But there's something that makes me feel that this idea is kind of basic, too dull. I might want to add some fancy animations and shit. That would require a designer

Ermm not really my type. What about something that requires very less design material? I'm not a designer so it will come handy to have a project which requires little to no design capabilities at all.

Ermm I'll think about something like a platform but without a character. The map could be filled with gaps from which some kind of things grow out like potatos or donald trumps face. When you touch it the face burns down and disappears the main goal is to burn down as many donald trumps faces as possible within a given period of time.

No I'm using Visual Studio as my main IDE, since cocos2d-x supports different platforms the C++ code I write there gets compiled to both android and ios.

Lol this is more for fun man, it's not like I'm planning to make a huge game and gain profit from this. Yes one day I hope I might get to it but as mentioned in the first post this is more a hobby project.
