I hate the SOTW System at the Moment. We need a Solution

Change it to a tournament format with strict judges no public vote.

Simple as, and easy to enforce. Just make sure the judges know how to criticise pieces, and how to judge them.

Adds a bit more competition, and it can just be a tournament that stretches over a month, and then starts again the next month. Gives people more incentive to do better, rather then saying i'll just try again next week.

I agree, a knockout tournment would be pretty fun. It would also encourage serious artists and discourage those with the intent of just a free VIP pass. Judges could stay hidden but their verdicts shown.

A tournament though i think would only be on occasion and not an on-going competition.
