So I was reading a video on ALLTIME10s and a fact really made my heart dance with joy.

So currently they are can (or will be) able make babies without males and soon enough I think wombs will not be needed either (bound to happen). So since we would be born in a lab, I was just wondering how much do you think we would change from out original way of birth? Like they have already used artificial sperm to give birth to rats.

The movie Gattaca describes it same way. As parents I think were able to choose what they wanted in their child creating the perfect human.

I always see people bring up that arguement when talking about cloning... what exactly is wrong with being perfect? Sure right NOW people have to live with the fact that they are not perfect, so they say that I rather not be perfect but I bet if it was possible to be perfect most people would chose to be perfect (sure the term may be lost but still)

Well basically perfect definition for me (currently it might change in future because world is always changing and I am not perfect so what I call perfect always changes)

1.) No war
2.) No race war
3.) Everyone is equal
4.) Instead of money a different more effective system would be in place

Something along those line but yeah perfect is a term that depends from people to people and that is again one of the reason why the things I listed happen. There was a bombing earlier and 70+ people died. why? Politics and racial war basically.

It depends on how you define perfect. I'm all for being as perfect as possible. People will obviously have better lives, humanity will grow and advance, and generally we can do more.

I'm more concerned about what we have to give up to become perfect. Maybe people will lose the sense of uniqueness. The line between being you and being like everyone else becomes blurred. That's when things start to get weird...

I don't know. It all depends on how we can be more perfect. If there's one and only one route then the question changes, but if there are multiple routes then things get interesting.

I'm afraid money will always play a factor in obtaining a perfect world.

Think about it. If one country (lets say the United States) figures out how to artificially make babies and also figures out how to "pick and choose" the genes, then they will have sole control over that and there's one thing I know about control is who ever has control of something (especially something as big as this) will not be willing to give it up as easily. This is when money steps in. Companies emerge (there might be one at first but as time goes one, more and more companies will be invested in the subject and develop their own methods) and then they become regulated by the government. At the end of the day, the government wants a share of the cash, the stock holders want the cash, the companies want the cash. They simply need it.

Then they start charging people. The list goes on and on. At the end of the day, its simply not that big of a necessity especially for the poor people in the world. They can live without it (we've been fine for hundreds of years, why change?).

Now thinking back on it... having a perfect world is almost impossible... There's always going to be something that will get in the way...

Your not thinking this through. I am basically talking not about our generation cause I am pretty sure more people want to have sex. I am basically talking about like 10-15 generation down, I can probably see this happening and after this becomes a thing another 10-15 generation down we will so much different then today.

Depends because as I said lab birth babies will start looking and being different then natural birth babies and that could be bad because as I said lab babies are going to be definitely smarter then natural babies.
