How to use Sam's Club account safely?

Hey everyone, I am little new here and wanted to get a Sam's club account to buy an window AC since it's like 95 degrees in my bedroom (No central AC). I used gamestop accounts a few months ago, but I heard that changed as well.

My current understanding for Sam's club is that, I log into the account on my phone, then I can just walk into Sam's club, grab an AC and go to the self-checkout, scan my phone FIRST then just checkout. I thought you had to show your membership to go into the building at all? Will this method work or will the feds kick down my door over a $120 AC?

well, from what i know, you CAN just grab it, scan it, and go. i'm not sure if you need a membership card or not to get in. if anything, you can just sneak in with a family or a middle-aged couple. or print out a 1 day pass:

Walk into the store -> grab items u want -> go to self checkout (if they don't have them a regular register is fine) -> scan card on account -> scan items -> take receipt -> leave (employee will check receipt at the door, but there is nothing to worry about)

I've gone 10+ times, never had that happen. I'd suggest just saying you don't have it on you
