Why are csgo skins expensive?

Do I recently started playing csgo, but I don't get why knifes are freaking expensive or awp? Any idea?

Well, a case costs 2.50 each. I am just saying something random but let's say chances of getting a knife is 1/100. That would make the knife 250 bucks. Then you have to work with supply and demand. Rarity + Supply + Demand = Price. Dragon Lores are 1000+ bucks.

The more rare the more expensive just get a few mid tier skins. You can always sell them back in the future.

If you really wanna save money then wait a couple of weeks before buying any skins. When gambling got big like 2 years ago most skins inflated in price. And now that gambling is finally done they will start to go back to their normal price.
