There are only a few reasons I believe, why people vlog:
1) They want views from people clicking their clickbaity title
2) They want their video to become so controversial that people share it and he gets views and $$
3) They want to address a significant problem that's been spreading like wildfire over the internet. (SO YOU KNOW I GOT SPONSORED)
