TIFU by joking to a flatmate [Uni Fresher's week]

My loughborough flat mate across the hall was acting strange today, she's usually very chatty/talkative but this morning we saw each other shared kitchen...

'Good Morning!' 'Silence' 'Good night sleep?' 'Silence'

Then i realised i must have fucked up, cuz all through the week shes was fine, making conversation etc. So at around 10pm GMT i decided to send her a text, consisting of if i did anything wrong, please accept my sincere apology ,something along those line...

Moments after, she knocked at my door, i opened, she started talking about how i cross a line and there's a boundary ...then it hit me, we was traveling to the supermarket with a bunch of flatmates and it's because i said the words 'Fuck You' as a joke to her (i forgot what context though), and mocked her laugh.

She also said "i didn't make this awkard, you did" , "You can mock me if we are friends..." (again, i was thinking, no you are making it awkard cuz you cannot take something as a joke)

So i was thinking in my head, is that it? Is that why she is ignoring me? all because she cannot take a joke. (She also bought in faith and culture and whatnot in to it....).

This makes me think, If a simple joke/satire is taken that seriously, then one must find it really difficult to cope with the world of work later in life.

I also thought, Does this incident really matter? Will it affect my Uni degree? (no) however i will have to stay in the same flat/halls for the year.

What do you guys think? Maybe the banter was a little OTT for someone i just met 4 days ago?

TLDR: Said F U to girl, girl gonna ignore me for forever.
