The text looks much better in my opinion, altho the drawing itself isn't great, it looks more like a fliter than anything else.

Speaking of which, did you seriously repaint the background excatly like the original by hand? If so, that's some serious willpower.

Yeah I did, haha. I actually think that I could've done a better job with my submission. I put a white glow on almost everything and it just makes it stand out instead of all blending together nicely.

I believe this version is better than the original, you may still be in time to edit it (or just state you prefer to switch entries with the last one you post).

I'm not a fan of the white glow at all, even in the last version you made, it feels deliberate as it does stand out but not in a positive way imo.

Which white glow do you mean? There's sort of a bloom effect that I added to the render. Without that (and some minor brightness and contrast adjustments) it looks like this:
