Yes, if you scroll up you can see that everyone is saying it works, aswell as a Video that even shows you it working ...

You don't need the thing you are cutting to go to your hand .
Join a server . In the first 30 or so seconds strip everything into your dupe container.
Search for X (Rocks/sticks)
Drag the thing to cut to your hands . It wont move but cut it anyway where it sits in inventory.

TADA ...
You will have to leave and join the server fresh after storing your duped items elsewhere to do it again . It doesn't seem to like it if you try right when the server comes back up .
