Atheist. Can't connect with religion. Most probably because of its' believers.

I don't think that atheists don't believe in god. They think god doesn't exist based on evidence. Most atheists don't even accept the concept of belief is even a valid way of thinking.

I don't believe because of the lack of evidence. And God's crowd of followers don't make religion any more tempting.
I believe in the concept of 'belief'. I believe in evolution, I think the big bang is a solid theory that tries to explain the creation of the universe, etc.

The problem with these counterpoints is they rely on scripture, which was undoubtedly been changed over the millennia. To determine if the religion should be demonized we should evaluate the status quo.

I'm an agnostic atheist. I do not believe in a god whatsoever, though the thought of an afterlife is soothing, and I can't really "prove" that there isn't a god. So basically, I won't believe it unless I see it.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Used to refer to myself as an atheist, but that is what I regard as most likely to be true, not what I will defend as definitely true.
