I need help with this aswell i get an error when i do the steam.cfg thing

Can you tell me where you found your version of steam pls

Here follow these steps:

1- Create a new text file on your desktop

2- In the text file, put this : BootStrapperInhibitAll=enable

3- Then click on Save As.. and then name the file Steam.cfg

4- Now that you have created the cfg file just drag it into the steam folder and it shouldn't update anymore

It may or may not work

It is supposed to suppress any client update checks. Note that it can stop working eventually or it won't work because of your steam version!

You guys are probably experiencing the same issue I was. Add OP on Skype and ask him for the steam folder he's using, that'll most likely fix it. At least it did for me.

So Jets DLC is released and This no longer works as it Errors out your steam till its updated and reverts back to normal.

This has happened to Three of us that did this exploit, Nothing else negative has happened.

I'm also having troubles with patching for the new Jets DLC or any DLC right now. By patching any of the DLC it reverts the game version to 1.68 and not the current version 1.70. As apparently every time I do patch a DLC, some update is applied to Arma 3 that reverts it back to the old version 1.68. I think it something to do with using old DLC files/versions that downgrades the game as the DLC patched in is installed somewhere in 2012.

Did you try to update steam so arma can update, then go back to the old steam again and start patching?
