[Online Only] A16.1 Duplication Glitch

Hello, I would have posted this earlier but I'm selfish and waited until I got bored of playing again, which I kinda did. As far as I know, this only works in MP because it relies on connection delays. Please note that this doesn't work every time and might not work at all on a fast connection with good ping. I have no idea if this is well known or not but I haven't seen anyone say anything about it yet so I might aswell do so.

1. Get any item or stack of items. You can get two stacks if you would like. If you are getting two stacks, it seems as though they must be the same item/items.

2. Get yourself a forge and open it.

3. Place your items inside of the two input slots.

4. Push "E" to exit the forge and quickly disconnect from the server. You should have NOT heard the sound of forge close before exiting the game as that would almost certainly mean it didn't duplicate the items.

5. Rejoin the server. You will most likely find the items you placed in the forge in your inventory. Open the forge and your items should be there as well. If not, check your chests as they sometimes appear in there if you just took them out of a chest before placing your items in the forge. If you do not find your items at all, try again as the process failed.

For me, the success rate varies as my connection is constantly changing. It's normally about a 1/3 chance of being successful. My ping is usually around 200. You may be able to throttle your connection slightly to get to a higher ping.

ALTERNATIVE METHOD

This method has a higher chance of working but will require a third party tool called "SuperF4". (You can google it and hit the first link or find a program like it)

0. Start "SuperF4" and make sure it's running in the task manager.

1. Do the steps as above. (Place your items in the forge.)

2. Right after you close the forge, push "CTRL then ALT then F4". Do this as quickly as possible. The faster, the better. Make sure you hit F4 last as not doing so will toggle fullscreen rather than closing the game. Doing this will force close your game. This is faster than disconnecting hence why it's more successful.

Notes:

This DOES work with workbenches and chem labs. I find chem labs to be the most successful. You can dupe up to 6 stacks of an item this way. DO NOT FORGET, they must be the same item. I don't normally recommend doing more than 2 or 3 stacks or the duping will sometimes bug out and you will only dupe one stack or even lose the items you put in. Having items disappear is fairly rare.

Let me know if this isn't working at all. It's worked for me flawlessly on multiple servers. Perhaps I just have a special network connection or something. If you don't get it on the first time, don't rage. It'll happen.

I'll try to make a demonstration video just as a proof-of-concept thing.
