Tattoo at 18?

I turned 18 a few weeks ago and I was wondering if any of you have experience getting a tattoo at 18 good or bad? I have always wanted the same tattoo for a while now and I have a dope artist in my town I just don't wanna fall into the group of people who get one at 18/19 and then end up hating it when they are older.

what kind of tattoo is it? also where? if it is anywhere where it can be seen when youre wearing a tshirt and long pants i wouldnt do it right now as it might give your problems later on when looking for some work

Yeah this was exactly the same thought I had when I was 18, so I'm still waiting because I do not want to repent.

Just going to say this for you. You'll regret it no matter what. You'll learn regret is apart of life also. You'll regret many things in life, tattoos are one of them. You'll regret it if it's large. You'll regret it more if it's meaning passes with time (is a fad, a name, a lyric, a symbol etc). You'll regret it even more if it's in a very noticeable place (chest/forearm/face/ you get the idea).

But what I've come to believe in life... You'll regret MOST what you don't do.

P.S. my source is me. I'm older than you and have tattoos. My sister would agree and she's just two years younger but started getting her tattoos at 15 :shrug:

Know plenty of people that have tattoos and are not even 18. Just remember that it's permanent, unless you laser it off which is more painful than getting the tattoo.

I wanna get veni vidi vici on my lower bicep (coverable), the reason why is when I was 15 I was pretty bad overweight, actually probably obese. I lost 60 pounds and it's the best decision I've made in my life, and the phrase Veni Vidi Vici (I came, I saw, I conquered) is one of the phrases I always looked to for encouragement. So it may seem stupid but it has a lot of meaning to me.

I usually don't comment on those threads but might as well do it now.

The whole point of tattoos to me is self-satisfaction. We seek to be different from each other, hence tattoos and their "meanings".
If something has a meaning, then I absolutely see no reason for it to be permanently stuck on your body for others to see. A meaning is something within.. a feeling or an emotion; give it a physical form and it has lost its real value.. and has rather become a way to show others you have this "big story" of yours with meanings and stuff, while in reality, it's nothing really -- Just a way to feel better about yourself.
