Does anyone know the reasoning behind not being able to edit a thread 24 hours after its been posted?

For marketplace - So information (ex. Skype) cannot be manipulated with.
For regular sections - No harmful content being added after section staff view the thread.

All in all, it guarantees that sellers and buyers can remedy mistakes, but not remove crucial information such as an old skype, or add a new line of BS to their ToS, etc.

It allows staff to act as a buffer.
