I like iPhones, and currently own one, but I do not see any significant "new" features on the iPhone X OR 8. It's really just the Face Recognition. That's a huge price to pay for a phone ($1000+ after taxes). The only reason I am getting a new one (iPhone 8) is because I've had the 5s for years now, so it's time for an upgrade.

In regards to the privacy side of things for Face ID, Apple has a record of not handing over data to government agencies. E.g San Bernardino shooting.
Either way, if your concern is privacy, neither Apple nor Google can keep your data 100% secure online.

It will only be stored on your unique device. FaceID is not online

apple doesnt give data to govt agencies, they even refused to unlock the iphone of the san bernadino guy who killed a couple people

i think apple is better in that regard compared to android ( google)

yeah apple might be doing stuff with your finger prints and maybe also with the face, but as already said i think android and google will more likely give out information than apple, and since most iphones use google services aswell theyre also getting "spied" on

The top bar is pretty bad because it cuts a part of the screen. It's the only reason why i might prefer the s8.
