Didn't read, but they ban your account.
I've been banned once for using cheats on Black Ops 3. So I bought another copy but I got banned without using cheats, with only 2 hours of playtime. I got banned once I logged into my steam account the other day, without opening the game. I thought it must have been the leftover files, so I cleaned the registry and changed my computer name for a fresh start.
I played for another few hours on another new account I bought 5 days ago, went to sleep, only to wake up log into steam and realize I had been banned. I was in disbelief.
I bought Black Ops 3 for the fourth time and I played for around 4 hours in the library. I went home, logged into my steam account and I got a ban notice.
It can't be a TAC ban since my K/D is always around 0.8, and my level is around 20, non prestige.
Tl;dr: What I need to know now is whether it is a HWID ban, which I really can't do anything about, or is it an IP ban which I can just change my IP.

But what I need to know is through which way? IP ban or Hardware ID ban? It would be a great help
Why on earth would a multi billion dollar company be stupid enough to blacklist something which is dynamic? When you get a VAC ban, do they ban a 'unique id' or your account? exactly.
Most good banning systems work by banning an account. They might also implement something that would look over ip's that have already been banned. But that wouldn't directly ip blacklist someone. There is a logical reason for this, and that is that there're 7 billion people in the world, and an ipv4 address is limited to 4 billion unique addresses, so do the maths. Then there are people who share a computer, are we going to ban the cheater or ban everyone using the computer. How about a school network, we going to ban every kid who uses the school internet, or just the one kid?
Edit: I read your message after you added paragraphing, I'm sure you would be able to figure out with some research. It might not be a identifier ban, but a internal thread which scans your files.

Thank you, that was a very informative post! Do you think there is a way to get around it, if it is an internal thread?(I have no idea what that is lol) I know you might have a busy schedule so you don't have to give a detailed guide on how to, just a response on whether it would be possible to get around would be greatly appreciated!

I got banned again when I played with a VPN, I'm guessing it's a HWID ban or the internal thread. Still, the cheat is undetected since it's paid, so the chances of internal thread ban shouldn't be high. But they wouldn't ban a player for playing on the same computer that another cheater played on before right? I'm done with Black Ops 3.
As Silent said, they don't ban your IP or HWID. They ban your account. It would be very stupid to ban something which can easily be changed; hence why a VPN wouldn't work. It's not a hard concept to grasp, seriously
Plus payed cheats aren't always safer, remember the treyarchs anti-cheat is the best anti-cheat out of all of the studios...

I bought a new account last Sunday, and I played on it for 3 days, laying low and stuff. However I got banned yesterday, when I logged into Black Ops 3 without changing my MAC address. So my MAC address is actually bannable? I'm sure it wasn't the cheat's problem, since it has a few hundred more users who have no problem with it. Is there a way to change my MAC address permanently? (I bought my 7th Black Ops 3 account today for another 30USD)
It actually makes sense that they would ban the MAC address since it's hard-coded into a network card and can never be changed.

Still got 3 months left on that cheat subscription, and also everytime I buy an account, I think "this time I won't get banned" which happened for 7 times.
