Just upgrade the gpu and since your budget is $1000, I would max it out and go straight for a 1080ti.
Disregard posts telling you to upgrade your cpu, your 3570k is completely fine and will be for a good few years yet.

    Regards

Just like what the others have said, just upgrade your GPU. You might need to upgrade your PSU depending on how much watts it has.

I'd say a new GPU, either a 1070 or 1080 along with a new PSU should be fine. Just make sure that your new PSU has enough wattage if you decide to upgrade the CPU as well

Just get a new GPU, maybe a 1060-1070, your CPU is fine and won't bottleneck anything unless it's like a 1080 or 1080ti

Just upgrade the GPU to a 1080 or something - then you should be set

*No point wasting a bunch of money on a completely new build if it's going to be out-dated in a few years

GTX 1070/1080 will be bottleneck for your CPU and u just throw away your money, so if you don't need everything at high-ultra settings and you will play at 1080p you can get a GTX 1060 6GB, but first check your PSU.
But if you want to play at 1440p or higher with everything at high settings, you need to get new PC.

Please ignore the previous posters saying a 3570k will bottleneck you, haven't a clue what they're blathering about, you aren't targeting 144fps+ for a high refresh rate monitor. Just upgrade your graphics card and you'll be swell.

I think your post was for me. I have tried by myself i5 4670 and GTX 1070 OC and its bottleneck, GPU have more potential than CPU. Other thing its GTX 1080Ti its for 1440p/4k gaming so using it with 3570k and 1080p it will be double money throw.
144fps i think you got in mind hz not fps, but still what it related to hz and fps?

Is your RAM ddr3 or ddr4?
What games will you be playing?

I'm going to assume you might play PUBG. I have a gtx 1060 and a bad cpu. I have to play on low settings. So keep in mind you may always need a better cpu.
