Some person in my physics class got a hold of my laptop after I left it in class.
Got a hold of my "important folder", deleted it, then deleted the folder off recycle bin. gg
So I'm no computer wizard, but making a folder of the same name containing the files, then restoring to a previous version had not worked.
Using programs such as EaseUS and Recuva recovers some files, however if they are not a .txt file, they are most likely broken pieces of what once was whole, such as .jpg and .py files.
Can you guys help? I'm hella lost on what to do now.
I just want to recover my folder along with the files contained inside.
I had important documents such as multiple account details/information, PPTs and presentations for my classes, and some videos and pictures I took and held dear from class and extracurricular trips with acquaintances.

Plenty of recovery programs for PC. When you delete something, it's not actually deleted, but it's designated as data that can be overwritten. This means that nothing is really deleted until it's been replaced. Files could become corrupt by being halfway replaced though, so you better try to recover it quickly.
Recovery point?

Did you use recuva on Full scan? I have had very good luck recovering stuff with it in the past, even when i did recovery on my old nokia N8 ( just for fun ) i got random old deleted photos ( taken like 4ish or even more years ago ), some of them were like half picture but still, for fresh recoveries ive had like 95% success.
Did i helped you somehow? Press that Thanks button..

You should be able to recover files with recovery software. I've done it many times in the past. For future reference back up your PC often and shank that stupid bitch

Computer storage for harddrive works like cups, they fill up a cup until they're full and then move onto the next one. When you delete something they don't actually delete it, they just overwrite it. So my advice is to get a program, but use the computer very minimally until you recover said files.
This happened to me before, but I only lost some game hacking stuff I was working on, nothing that couldn't be redone, but I learned that its always best to do daily backups, to an external HDD or even to OneDrive, saves you a lot of stress when shit like this happens
name of data recovery software and is it free?
Recuva or something like that works
