I live in Germany. I make about 1950USD per month after taxes, I word around 50hrs per week as DHL courier. BigMac menu is around 9.50USD, milk is around 1USD. My car insurance for BMW 116D 2014 is 60USD per month (around 700USD per year)

In where I live, the minimum wage is $11.40 CAD/hr.
I currently make $15 CAD/hr which is above minimum wage (I'm a university student), but considering the work-load & regular office hours I get, I think it's not bad.
Some people work shitty hours/long hours and are under continuous stress/pressures.
It honestly depends at where you work and what you're doing.

A McDonalds combo is like $10 or something, so prices are pretty high, and increasing due to inflation.
If you make minimum wage and want to buy something, you're going to have to manage your budget/money really well.

If you want to specialize yourself in a function, the company might pay the costs and give you a raise. Seen people earn 50-150 EUR a hour.
