How did you study for your midtersm?

Did your professor give you a study guide or no? Most of my classes expect for one gave a study guide so I was alright but the the one that didn't expected us to read over 100+ pages and remember everything from terms to italic and bold terms AND EVEN THE FUCKING pictures. So do your professors expect you to remember the whole fucking book? O.o
