Whilst many things are possible. Many also aren't (things like MP regeneration, or changing your defense stat will not work, as it is server-sided).
Though I encourage you to play a private server without a hacked client. Not only does it ruin the fun for you, but also slowly kills the server, as the developer(s) cannot push out any new content updates due to the "have to fix this hack" pressure you're putting on them.

And hey, it's a private server. If you need a hacked client on one of those, perhaps you shouldn't be playing one.
