Kind of old news but was suprised the topic hasn't came up, what do you guys think about this?
Honestly I feel like Epic Games will probably win since the kid is obviously in the wrong.

Yeah, its incredibly stupid to allow people to cheat in a video game even though its clearly specified in terms of service of any game that using anything that gives an advantage (wall hack, aim assistance, etc) will cause you a ban, they can sue people as much they want, they can sue MPGH for "publishing" the cheats for said game or sue people who make these cheats, and if that is stupid, then there is something wrong with your beanut brain.

Honestly, Epic Games have legal grounding for their lawsuit. He did enter into a contract about not modifying or altering copyrighted material, (i.e. Fortnite Code), but he breached that contract. His age might save him.

Haha tbh kinda a douche move but whatever, creators just want more money and an example for anyone else who does it

Creating a software that applies beneficial attributes to a game is NOT the same as modifying a game's intellectual property. The EULA does not give Epic Games the right to sue users of their service, it only gives them the ability to ban someone from utilizing it.
An "End User License Agreement" is a set list of terms you agree to when using their service. It is not a legally binding contract that carries criminal punishment. The DMCA also only affects their actual IP/patent on their product or service. Seeing as a multitude of cheating software these days is exclusively ran separate from the client, it is not modifying their original software in any way. So, their DMCA claim is also inaccurate.
Even on the claim that these users are utilizing hacking software for monetary gain, they can only issue a cease and desist. Now if I recall correctly, you have to PAY for hacking software to use it. It does not typically help you make money. If Epic were to be going after the creators of these paid cheats, they may have some ground to stand on. But going after streamers/users for simply utilizing the hacks themselves does not fall under any category of the law.
Even in the case that a person is using hacks in a video, or on a stream, Epic must first go through the standard procedure of contacting the platform itself (such as Youtube or Twitch) and informing them that a user on their platform is breaking the law or the terms of service. They cannot directly pursue a streamer without first going through the applied terms of service, as TECHNICALLY Epic games is breaking several terms of service by illegally using Twitch and Youtube to target specific individuals. When they access those websites, they ALSO have to agree to their terms of service to utilize it. Otherwise, they are breaking the law to find out people are breaking the law (entrapment).
That's my two cents.
tl;dr Epic games is a shitty company that is too stupid to ban hackers, so instead they go after poor children and use their power to take advantage of the legal system in an attempt to make an example of hackers.
