Why not both? It depends what you're looking for - performance/price is PC, portability is laptop.

Well they both have their own niches. Laptops are for people who move around and want to take their work with them. PC's will offer more power for your buck but you have to be stationary.
Gaming Laptops are just stupidly overpriced. If you want to game on a computer go with a desktop

I refuse to get any high level work done on my laptop. If I have the choice to use my desktop im going to, has more of my stuff, dual monitors, and large keyboard and mouse

I have both a desktop PC and a laptop, I honestly rarely use my laptop though.

Its great for portability if you are a student or someone who travels often, but I never have a need to use a computer away from home. At home my desktop is faster, better keyboard and mouse, larger screen and just more comfortable.

The decision in my opinion lies in your particular lifestyle, and if its worth sacrificing speed and utility for more mobility.

PC, the negatives of having a laptop don't outweigh the convenience and price of a good desktop.

Laptops are great for mobile usage but don't offer a lot that you can't already do on your phone nowadays besides the keyboard or bigger screen. PC is great for gaming and all around usage if you're home often to use it.

    You cannot compare them.
    They both have different purposes.
Laptops are supposed to be small and portable that are mostly made for tasks like writing emails, browsing the web and occasionally some light gaming.
PC's can have many purposes, for work, gaming, productivity and the list goes on.

So not one can be better than each other.
This is like comparing a sport game to a fps game
