Huge oil tanker off China’s coast on fire, at risk of exploding
There has been a collision with an oil tanker and a freighter off China's east coast, it is at risk of exploding and sicking to the bottom of the sea. Authorities from three different countries has been searching for the 32 missing crew members and trying to contain the oil continuing to spew into the sea.
The Chinese state broadcaster said that none of the 30 Iranians and 2 Bangladeshis who have been missing since the collision late Saturday had been found. A search and cleanup effort has been delayed because of the big fire and poisonous gas.
South Korea, China and the U.S. have sent ships and planes to find the still missing crew members. The U.S. has sent a P-8A aircraft, which took off from Okinawa, Japan, to aid the search party.
The Sanchi was carrying 136,000 metric tons (150,000 tons, or nearly 1 million barrels) of condensate, a type of ultra-light oil.

Comcast fired 500 despite stating tax cut would create thousands of jobs
Comcast reportedly fired 500 of its workers right before Christmas, even though they claimed it would create thousands of jobs. Comcast tried to keep the firings under wraps, making fired employees sign a "non-disclosure agreement". The details of the firings were reported by an anonymous, and former Comcast employee, who has not been identified due to the non-disclosure agreement. Comcast conducted these firings behind closed doors while it was lobbying for tax cuts in the month of December - which was eventually passed into law by US President Donald Trump. The firings happened around December 15, and on December 20, Comcast had announced that due the nearing-soon tax cuts by Trump, and the repeal of net neutrality, that over 100,000 employees would receive $1,000 in "special benefits" and invest over $50 billion in infrastructure over the next five years. Despite making these claims, they laid off 500 workers. In addition, it was recently reported that they are laying off 400 workers in a single facility in Atlanta, further adding onto the amount of firings. Comcast is not alone in this respect. AT&T had also promised the repealment of net neutrality and the introduction of tax cuts would introduce more jobs. However, just this week, they have laid off over 1,000 workers. Currently, they are facing a lawsuit from a worker's union due to massive amounts of job cuts.

By using G-SYNC’s variable refresh rate technology, BFGDs can be set to a genuine 24 Hz to match the frame rate of the source material, providing a cinema-like experience at home, making the display great for watching movies and not only gaming. This is definitely a huge step in the right direction. Surely, many companies like Samsung and LG will start working on similar monitors very soon.

Mercedes-AMG & Linkin Park
The engineers of the German manufacturer are considering the idea of electric cars with the Mercedes-AMG branding to issue artificial noises. This will protect pedestrians who are close to them. The new EV cars in the series will be so silent that an alternative way to alert other road users is needed. That is why Mercedes-AMG will create their own collection of artificial sounds.
The data for these plans were confirmed personally by the Chief Executive of the Mercedes-AMG Division, Tobias Moyers. In his statement, he said that the company offers its customers a unique emotion and sound is an integral part of this feeling and the overall experience, Engadget reported. The realization of this idea implies huge marketing opportunities for the German manufacturer.
Even more interestingly, Mercedes-AMG plans to use the sounds of the popular rock band Linkin Park. The band will become the first official partner of this project and along with them will be attracted many other audio experts. Thanks to them, the Mercedes-AMG will create the optimal palette of sounds that will differentiate their future electric cars from other competing vehicles.

According to a cybersecurity expert, sex robots could be manipulated by hackers and used for causing harm or possibly killing people. AI researchers have consistently been warning people of the risks of internet-connected robots, hundreds of researchers demanded governments to ban such robots. “Often these robots can be upwards of 200 pounds and very strong. Once a robot is hacked, the hacker has full control and can issue instructions to the robot." Said Nicholas Patterson, a cybersecurity lecturer at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia, to the Star. Some vulnerabilities were already discovered in sex toys containing Bluetooth, which makes hackers able to control it remotely. An example of such case was a vulnerable butt plug, which was talked about last year. It's best to warn anyone you know who possesses one of those robots, just in case something goes wrong.

Lil Uzi Vert - Mood
We finally hear some more music from Lil Uzi. His last releases were tacked on tracks to make a deluxe edition of his first studio album. Thankfully with this track Uzi goes back to his roots. His popular mixtape "Lil Uzi Vert vs The World" had some very unique sounds on it that not many artists could use to their advantage. In this song Uzi pulls those from those elements again to give his day 1 fans something to show he hasn't lost his touch. Overall the song is slightly repetitive like most of his music and it's purely meant to be a party banger. With heavy bass and groovy, catchy lyrics this song is sure to pop at any party.
I give this song an 8 / 10. I liked the song a lot, but from an analytical standpoint it had a few flaws.

Alabama rallies, wins 5th football national title in 9 years
Alabama came into the national championship not so hot. Georgia was up by 13 points going into the third quarter. It was a hard fought battle when Alabama made a big decision. Alabama decided to make a huge decision by putting in freshman quarterback Tagovailoa. Once he was put in the game he began throwing the ball extremely well and performed as a dual-threat quarterback. The winning catch was caught by DeVonta Smith in overtime, "Tua Tagovailoa hit freshman wide receiver DeVonta Smith with a 41-yard touchdown pass, and Alabama defeated Georgia 26-23 in overtime to win the College Football Playoff national championship game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta." Alabama ended up being the better team, and it is a real heartbreaker for Georgia as they have not won a national championship since 1980.

Facebook "will" be or could be soon offering their users an option to post their story on three social networks that they own, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. Instagram recently confirmed the testing of a tool to cross-post stories as a WhatsApp status. With the option to already share Instagram stories on Facebook in place. The reason for it is to help users to post on thee platforms without having to manually upload content on each one to save time and trouble.

The first ones to spot the new option were users in Brazil, and Instagram confirmed to Tech Crunch that the feature is currently in testing. Like content posted natively to the status in WhatsApp directly, users can also choose who sees that status. A New Jersey mother of two used a lottery ticket as a bookmark for weeks, unaware that the numbers on it would bring her a life-changing windfall. Oksana Zaharov, 46, asked a clerk at a Manhattan store for a $1 scratch-off ticket, but the worker gave her a $10 Set For Life ticket, KTLA sister station WPIX in New York City reported Tuesday. She decided to keep it anyway. “When the clerk handed me the wrong ticket I felt bad so I decided to just go ahead and buy it,” Zaharov said. “I actually used the ticket as a bookmark for a couple weeks before I decided to scratch it.” She couldn’t believe it when she saw that she’d won $5 million. “I never win anything,” she said. “I was sure the ticket was fake. It wasn’t until I brought it into the office that I knew it was for real.” Zaharov plans to celebrate her win with a family vacation to the Bahamas and put money toward her children’s college education.

Ohio postal carriers say aggressive turkeys stopping mail service
ROCKY RIVER, OH (AP) — Postal carriers say a rafter of aggressive wild turkeys have prevented them from delivering mail to more than two dozen homes in a Cleveland suburb. Residents on a number of streets in Rocky River have had to pick up their mail at the post office because the turkeys have created unsafe conditions for carriers to deliver to their homes. Rocky River Mayor Pam Bobst said the problem has persisted for the last three weeks. She said city ordinances don’t allow for the turkeys to be eradicated. The city has instead sent letters to people asking them to stop putting out bird feed in the hope the turkeys will go elsewhere. A U.S. Postal Service spokesman says some carriers have been pecked but none have been injured.
