Pentooling my text

Say I have some text. I want to get like a curve (I have the curve) and I want to make that part brighter. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and can they help me?

With the pen tool still selected, after drawing your path, right click on the canvas and select "Stroke Path". You can choose color, pixel size, whether or not to simulate pressure, etc.
Is that what you meant?

Also, I recommend becoming familiar with the pentool.
