How does one get into a special usergroup? Do you apply or are you just chosen by a moderator?

NF: Head NF will pick you (Hova?)
MM: Admin will pick you (Hero)
Minion, Minion+, Mod, Global Mod: Staff admin will pick you (Liz, Hero)

Although you can buy Premium and Premium Seller (thread is in general)

You get contributor if you create many hacks for a section (contributing) and are really active in that section helping users etc, members recognised for this effort are given the contributor tag but its pretty hard nowadays because lots of other users are competing with you for it.
