if btc shoots up again, as will gpu prices
As said by altcoin, if mining as GPU mining becomes more profitable, the GPU prices will increase as well. Why? Demand will increase, meaning the company can charge more of it. For example:
Scenario 1:
Say a GPU costs $100 to buy. In 1 year, you can make $100 in profit by mining ETH (breaking even after 1 year). So, then you buy another GPU. So own 2 GPU's after 1 year.
Scenario 2:
Now say, you can buy that same GPU for $100, and make $200 in 1 year. Meaning, in 6 months, you will break even. Hence, after the 6th month, you can purchase another GPU for $100. Then after another 6 months passes, you made $200. Meaning you can purchase 2 more GPU's. At the end of the year, you have 4 GPU's.
Demand increases, because more people can use their GPU's to make more money. It wouldn't make sense if a company kept charging the same price. Maybe they would come out with different models of the same line. A consumer tier GPU and a miner's GPU. Therefore, a consumer could still game nicely, and the price of the GPU would be stable, but the consumer cannot mine with it, so demand and supply are in balance for both tiers
would be interested to see how prices move
i think prices will keep gpu pricing will keep droping
I think the recent crash made clear that this GPU price bubble wasnt due to crypto only but part of the semi cycle. I think we are looking at another year or two of expensive GPUs.
I doubt the prices will drop, as mining won't really die
just buy rtx 2070 great for its price
