What do you think about my logo design?

First off, I'm a real beginner in photoshop/illustrator or in general in editing. Only made a couple light edits for learning purposes and some basic logos. Been using the nickname Variety on other platforms for quiet a while now and I felt like that I should make myself a logo, maybe even some light animation later.
Been looking for ideas today, gathered a lot of them, this is only the first version that I made, will do more later(will maybe post them here later)
So enough said, here it is:

I think the background doesn't quite matched to the logo.
And for the logo, it is simple and look nice.

It looks kinda weird because random parts are blurred while othes are not but the logo is nice!

Thank you for the feedback. The final bg will represent the meaning whats beyond the name "Variety". When I was younger I always changed my nicknames, only lately settled with this, wanted something original that had a meaning, and this represents all the changes I gone through. And this variety will be shown on the bg, that's why it's full of random colors. Of course will get a better image, this was just one that looked kinda good and could use as example.
