I like the simplicity of the actual logo, but the background just feels way too crazy and cluttered for me. Simplicity when possible is best IMO. Also, does the actual logo relate to you or your brand in any way?

Looks pretty bad with coloring. Try lowering the background contrast and setting the logo color to be white.

I felt like that I should make myself a logo, maybe even some light animation later.

Background is very complex but the logo is nice, needs to be balanced a bit more.

exactly what this fella said the back is way to busy and of what the other person said it does not match the background but for a novice it looks good.

This looks very nice but I have to agree with what others have said of the background. Have you considered removing the background for one solid color while keeping the image contained in the triangle portion?
