I have this installed, but the new game types are not showing, nor the stimulus, and the players online is always the same, is there a certain server i need to connect to or something? Please help, i want cod so bad.

I can't find any servers, and I can't get DLC working.
I got the original game, copied folder from steamapps, used patches and cracks and alter, I start game,
and I wait.... and wait.. and guess what, nothing happens xD

Copying to steamapps is a bad idea, You should make a copy of your MW2 Folder somewhere.

Look, I have steam(cs source, not codmw2) and i played the free wekend version of codmw2 twice, Now, that I did is that after the weekend was over, I deleted the version i installed from steam, then i redownloaded Call.Of.Duty.Modern.Warfare.2-PROPER and then I downloaded the crack files and stimulus map pack from the official alteriwnet site, then installed codmw2, cracked, then i copied all the stimulus dlc maps and all the stuff from alteriwcrack map(it was a rar but i extracted) to the cod folders and ran the game, went find match and it worked. And thats the whole magic.

EDIT: oh yeah i just noticed that the instructions are perfectly written on the first page, sry, i downloaded it from an external source and installed myself. Oh yeah and all in all theres about 800 players, mostly playing tdm is 500-600, then theres 50-90 on deathmatch(free for all) and theres some on ground war, all the other gamemodes are empty :P Oh and hardcore tdm has usually around 50 players too. Basicly any time you want to play, you get a room and can play, just not every gamemode you would want but since its free its quite awesome that its working the way it is.

hey i have a question can i get banned on cod(normal) if i use the cracked.exe to go on the private server ?

AlterIWnet is down for me, it's been working for a week but I just tried an external esp for the first time, now When I startup the game and click connect it gives me a Connecting to IWnet sign that lasts forever. Could I get banned or is the server down and this just a coincidence ? The server is "server.alteriw .net"

So with this I can join other private servers? I have the proper skidrow version. I just download it, follow the steps and that's it? Or I need Steam, or something else?

Server IS Down? Or am I just stupid and didn't do anything correctly? I copied my mw2 thing with everything in it. DLed the Client Update from first post and put everything in. and I open Mw2 and it says could not connect to configured server (server.alteriw.net) Possibly you've misconfigured alteriwnet.ini , or this server is acutally down.
