    PC QUESTION!! ~if u understeand about compeuters aswer me plz

    this is my problem...

    my brother is always putting a pass-word in my compeuter.
    (that pass that we put when we turn the pc on and press "DEL", we go to a blue painel of options and we can put a password...

    so i want to know if there is any way i can turn it off or ignore it or whatever without knowing what the password is...

    -computer: pentium 2 (i know its old but has some things my brother put so its not that bad xD)

    -windows xp professional

    wtf?u say u wanna turn it off without knowing password?why would u need password for that?just unplug it

    This should be in the Hardware/Software Support section and if you don't know the password maybe you could try reinstalling windows (not formatting your pc.)

    lol i dont know the pass-word but my brother know xD

    he just keeps taking it from me. llol i cant reinstall windows.

    so there is nothing else i can do? dam brother

    reset ur bios, he set a bios pass.

    what is reset your bios?

    and what is CMOS??? what part of the pc is that? portugusese!! sorry dont know that term xD

    ur mother board has a "thing" the BIOS..aka BASIC INPUT OUTPUT SYSTEM. it controlls the motherboard. and ur bro set a password on the bios. so open ur case, and find the battery and pull it out and wait 15 min to be safe, and then put it back in, and ur good to go.

    ah.. go to your bios screen the blue screen he set the suprior password from there?? then just restore it to default it should remove the password idk.. not sure..

    I think as you access the bios screen you have to type in a password before you can proceed onto the bios setting etc, my school computers have passwords in the bios menu.

    You dont need to reinstall windows (as that wouldnt help either) but you will have to reset the bios, (some motherboards have a red button to wipe it) just google it.
