The gift card method? you tried it on the web page or xbox console? I had a similar problem with the frozen pack for fortnite with a argentina gift card a while ago, I tried it on the xbox app and worked instant worked twice.. Will try it on the app and see if it works

Update, I got it to work with the GC method but I wasn't able to purchase the coins until about 5 days after adding funds.
