How do you guys stop procrastinating and start studying?

Like others have said remove distractions away from you or remove yourself away from distractions. Library is a great place to help stay semi focused but at the end of the day its all in your head and if you really want to learn and study.

I'm similar with you but with worse condition.
I'm repeating for a huge exam that I failed last year. I've been staying at home most of the time for the past 6 months. I should be studying but end up spending up to 10+ hours on Youtube, Social Media and gaming. Everyday just doing 2 hours of work.

It's pretty messed up for me as there's only 15 more days until my exam but I still have a lot of crap to study.
Yet I played League of Legends today too lol.

It just seems like time passes more quickly when you waste it.

I'm not gonna admit I spend my time checking the "What's new" section every hour on MPGH

I'm in the same boat. I'm either browsing the forums, watching youtube vids or twitch streams. When I finally have to study I always find a lot of reasons not to start. example noticing how messy my room is.

Since I'm going through my undergrad studies right now I have less academic experience than you, but I'll try to help you regardless. Procrastinating requires a mindset change imo. If you have to do something, try to do it ASAP. I know it's easy to say but you have to consider that leaving things for later could create even bigger problems later on, like saying you're gonna start studying a week before the test lol

Any advice is appreciated, undergrad or not. Yeah I agree it does require mindset change. Though I do not know how I got through undergrad, I am doing the same things as I did before and am somehow surviving. Though I cannot keep doing this as I plan on taking up surgery.

I can't simply do that. Medicine requires me to look up a bunch of stuff every once in a while.

like go to a library or smth
i rarely learn but there i get the most work done

So for example
15 min study and 10 min break or 25 min study and 15 min break
If you adhere to that for the day than set up a reward policy. If you fail, do a punishment; however, make sure the punishment will hurt you in a decent way, so you don't take it lightly.
Why do you need to study? Ask this first and foremost. Everything else is bullshit if you don't ask and understand this question.
Study with friends WHO CARE about their grades. Make friends with people who are smarter than you, consistently get better grades and overall are just better than you, sounds stupid but it really works.

There are online apps to help you with this. Also look at study tactics. I know this works because I used to get C's and D's in high school and I am now a mostly A student with honors and deans llst. However, the american school system is garbage, so grades don't reflect much.

I'll take note of this. Though once I take a break its usually a hour long break. lol

i have the bose qc35s and the noise cancelling really is a blessing
even when youre in a full subway i dont hear any other noises besides my music, no kids screaming etc

also if you travel a lot by plane, train, bus etc they remove almost all the sounds and its a lot more relaxing

you should try them in a store or smth first but imo its very worth it

I would've gone to another school due to graduation and getting education on computer fixing stuff and things like that, but to me education feels like a chore, just like jobs, so I do what I enjoy the most.

Sleep at 7:00pm. Wake up at 4:00am and start studying in the morning! It helps u study more easily. Then go to school or work that only make you tired by the end of the day lol.

Yeah to be honest maybe I’ve just been feeling unmotivated. I’ve been studying most of my life and it does seem to be much of a chore. As I too myself would rather do things I love doing.

I seriously have this problem too bro. One thing that's forsure for me is that I need to be out of my house in a place that is quiet but not dead silent. Don't waste your time at a starbucks or something, the music is too loud and too many people come by every second. I suggest if you live in a condo or something try to go downstairs in the lobby or somewhere peaceful but where there is still some things going on. You don;t want to feel isolated to the point where it's depressing to study. Recently I've been trying to convince myself that since I did good studying elsewhere that I can finally do it at home. Honestly it's just my subconscious trying to keep me comfortable in my home when that won't help me. It sucks be we need to push out of our comfort zones.
