Motherboard With Burnt PCI-E Slot: Should I Just Send it Back?

I bought a refurbished mobo off Newegg because for a LGA1150 normal ATX board that supports sli is like $300 so I tested my luck with a “refurbished” one and got dicked. The main GPU PCI-E slot has a burnt connection point on the left side of the slot. Plastic is burnt and the pins inside are also toasted. But my question is, could I just use the other PCI-E slot and run it that way since it’s a SLI board? How much of a risk am I taking with my other components? I’ve been out a PC for 3 weeks now and don’t want to have to send this back, plus, all the stories I have read on say that usually they just resend you your same board without doing anything to it.





They sellers name is “Alex Computers” so if anyone has ever dealt with them please leave some feedback from your experience with them so I know what to expect. Thanks guys!

Nvm this thread is pointless now. I removed the CPU cover and there are bent pins. I fucking love it.

Newegg 'refurbished' is more often than not "hey here's this piece of shit we found rusting in the returns department, we hope it works I guess, but not really, thanks for the money".

It looks like whoever had it before me was water cooled and one of their lines had a leak, leaked down the board and found its way to the pci-e slot. Most likely in a panic the dude ripped everything apart and bent some pins getting the cpu out. Which is why I will never water cool or buy anything refurbished from Newegg ever again.

Never do business with Alex Computers on Newegg they are extremely retarded. I’ve had to resend the pictures 3 times and they keep telling me it was a working board. Time to contact PayPal.
