Can you track a Spoof Number?

We have someone at work using a generator to change their incoming text/number that appears on incoming messages/calls. They are messaging claiming massive injuries, explosions, death etc to different workers at all hours of the night.

They are extremely racist and toxic, sharing direct images of other employees with horrible comments associated with them.

Does anyone have any guidance on how you can find out where the root of these fake calls/texts are coming?

For instance, they will dial you and have the number appear like it is the FBI, State Police, etc.

It is always a different spoof number when they perform the act, but they recently had saved pictures from Facebook to send over with their comments on. Anything from the Metadata in that that could help trace it, or is that just when someone takes a photo personally?

You can research certain apps/services that can help with that. The easiest and most convenient thing to do IMO would be to block any unknown/private/hidden #'s etc which can be done by apps too by the way. You can always unblock #'s that you recognize. There are different ways for tracking the signal/source etc but it would require some decent technical skills, some ways may involve some surveillance/spy methods (may be legal/illegal depending on what and how far you want to go), can pay a security specialist to do it for your employer (they have expensive equipment etc). Pretty much shared several examples, can research more details if you want but i do not want to break any rules by giving specifics (especially do not want to encourage or condone any unethical/illegal activities or actions) therefore, you are responsible with what you do/want to do.
