I mean it's quite clear that China is the only superpower that is in direct competition with the US rn. Over the last fifty or so years they've made an effort to make sure they are not dependent in any way shape or form on the US or US products. They have their own social media websites, their own cars, and they are the world's largest producer of electricity. They are also the largest exporter in the world. They are also making an effort to form their own political and economic alliances in the eastern hemisphere. The Belt and Road initiative is a good example of that.
