It doesn't work for me, I am running it from epic games. Can somebody tell me if I am just being stupid or if it just doesn't work for epic games.

It says that the transaction fails and I need to reboot the game.

First, use the latest version:

Second, read what's in that thread! Skip the dumb stuff and just read the instructions. TLDR (of course): do it in an empty lobby and input exactly the double amount of the sell value into the tool after you start the mission (after receiving the phone call and entering the vehicle).

I did the usual empty lobby, double the selling price and after completing the mission it just gives you the original selling price. Needs to be updated imo since its so useful
